Host a Community Event

Residents and organizations may host community-focused events that bring people together and enhance village life. Some events require a Special Event Permit to ensure safety, coordination, and public benefit.

Host a Community Event Request

While such events can enhance community quality of life, they also may create concerns for emergency access, health, safety, welfare, or property. The Village therefore has established policies and procedures governing these events.

Pursuant to §285-2 of the Village Code, a special event is an event proposed to be held on public property or on private property, but affecting public property or requiring Village support services.

Special Events applicaitions should be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event.

Pursuant to §285-3(B)(2)(c) , there must be an identified “in charge person” on premise during all hours of the event.
