Notice to Fill Vacancy- Village of Lancaster Village Board Trustee
The Village Board of the Village of Lancaster is comprised of a Mayor and four Trustees, all elected to staggered 4 year terms. Recently one of the four Village Trustee positions has become vacant during a term to expire March 31, 2025.
For the April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 unexpired term, the vacancy is to be filled by a special village election to be conducted March 19, 2024.
It is the intention of the Village Board to select an interim trustee to fill the vacant position until it is filled by special election. So long as village residency requirements continue to be satisfied, the person selected by the Village Board would be eligible to seek election on March 19, 2024 to a 1 year interim term and in March of 2025 to a full four year term.
All Lancaster Village residents over the age of 18 years interested in being considered by the Village Board to serve as an interim Village of Lancaster Trustee until March 31, 2024, should please submit his or her resume including full name, mailing address, email address, and phone number(s) to the office of the Village Clerk Michael E. Stegmeier, Municipal Building 5423 Broadway Lancaster, NY 14086 by 4:30 p.m. November 14, 2023.
