VILLAGE OF LANCASTER
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO BE HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE; That the Village of Lancaster Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing in the Council Chambers of the Lancaster Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway, Lancaster, New York on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 7:15 P.M. to consider a local law which if adopted would amend Chapter 126 “Dumpsters” of the Lancaster Village Code as follows:
1) exclude from the application of Chapter 126 those dumpsters used for waste materials accumulated in the performance of a valid building permit;
2) extend the maximum term of a dumpster permit from 1 to 3 years;
3) establish a review process by Village officials of dumpster permit applications and
4) provide that the Village Board of Trustees will review dumpster permit applications and either stay the approval pending further information, approve, conditionally approve, or deny the application.
The full text of the proposed local law may be reviewed at the Village of Lancaster website https://lancastervillageny.gov or during office hours at the office of the Village Clerk, Lancaster Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway, Lancaster, New York.
