Leaf Pick Up
Please rake leaves to the curb or street edge if there is no curb, not into the street. This blocks the storm drains and causes flooding.
Pick up schedule is for the Spring/Fall.
The Lake Erie Watershed Protection Alliance is requesting that yard waste be kept out of our waterways and composted to aid in keeping our lakes and waterways clean.
Brush Pickup
Brush collection will be arranged upon resident request. Once your request is submitted, it will be added to our work schedule.
Brush that is left behind by private contractors will not be picked up by the village, and is the responsibility of the contractor and/or the property owner.
Tree Maintenance and Planting
This request is only for village trees between the sidewalk and the curb in municipal right of way.
An inspection of the tree and/or planting area by the Village Arborist and Forestry Team is required before any maintenance or planting decisions are made.
Please note the Village cannot support maintenance or planting requests on the following streets: Aurora St, Como Park Blvd, Walden Ave, or Broadway.
- If a resident lives on Aurora St or Como Park Blvd, please call the Erie County Dept of Public Works at (716) 858-8300.
- If a resident lives on Broadway or Walden Ave, please call the NYSDOT Region 5 Office at (716) 847-3238.
Tree Dedication Program
Residents can commission a bronze plaque through the Village to dedicate a Village-owned street tree to honor or remember a loved one. Dedication plaques will be installed by the Village of Lancaster Department of Public Works at the foot of a tree on Pleasant Avenue between Aurora and Central, on West Main Street, or on Central Avenue in between Pleasant and Broadway as space allows.
